Call Forwarding Instructions - AT&T

Learn how to forward your home phone calls from AT&T to ServiceForge live receptionists.

Forwarding your AT&T calls to ServiceForge takes just a moment, right from your phone.

Please note: These instructions apply to AT&T local home phone service. If you have wireless service or a different AT&T plan, the steps may vary - reach out to us and we'll help point you in the right direction.

Turn On Call Forwarding

  1. Dial *72 (or 72#) and listen for the dial tone.

  2. Enter your ServiceForge number as the forwarding number:

    • Long distance: dial 1 + area code + 7-digit number.

    • Requires an area code but isn't long distance: dial the area code + 7-digit number.

    • Local, no area code needed: dial just the 7-digit number.

  3. Wait for the confirmation tone. The system will then call ServiceForge - once we answer, forwarding is active.

Good to know: If the line is busy or unanswered when you set it up, forwarding won't activate. Just repeat the steps to try again. You'll hear an error message if the number isn't valid.

Turn Off Call Forwarding

  1. Dial *73 (or 73#).

If Forwarding Isn't Working

Some AT&T forwarding options, like forwarding only when your line is busy or when you don't answer, are set up through AT&T directly rather than a star code. To turn these on or off, contact AT&T directly.
