Save the Redwoods League

Restoring forests. Strengthening communities
When you walk through a redwood forest, you can feel the power of the place. It’s quiet, steady, meant to last. That’s the kind of work we believe in at ServiceForge. Building something real, something that endures.
That’s why we’re proud to partner with Save the Redwoods League, an organization that’s been protecting and restoring California’s redwood forests for more than 100 years. Together, we’re creating reliable, local jobs and rebuilding the landscapes that support them.
From Logging Towns to Restoration Heroes
For generations, Humboldt and Del Norte counties made their living through timber. When that industry declined, so did many of the jobs that held local families together. Now, those same communities are leading the way in a new kind of work—restoration.
Since 2019, nearly $100 million has gone into local restoration projects through Save the Redwoods League and its partners. In 2024 alone, those projects supported 200 jobs, ranging from construction and heavy equipment operation to forestry and project management.
90% of that work went to local crews, meaning the money stays where it matters most: in the local community.
Skilled Work that Protects the Landss
This isn’t just about trees. It’s about safety, sustainability, and pride in craft. Crews are thinning overgrown forests to prevent wildfires, rebuilding creeks to allow salmon to return, and stabilizing slopes to avoid flooding.
It’s hands-on work with visible results. The kind of work that keeps people employed, protects homes, and helps the next generation build something better.
Through local apprenticeship programs, more than 70 students have already been trained in forest restoration, learning skills that open doors in forestry, conservation, and the trades.
Why This Partnership Matters

At ServiceForge, we connect skilled people with essential work. The partnership with Save the Redwoods League is about more than conservation; it’s about rebuilding local economies, one project at a time.
When people who care about their craft work together, the results speak for themselves. Stronger forests. Stronger communities. More opportunities for the people who do the work.
That’s the future we’re building - steady, skilled, and sustainable.
