Give customers the flexibility to spread the cost of higher-value jobs while you receive the full payment straight away. More flexibility for them. Better cash flow for you.
Enable Buy Now, Pay Later
Connect Stripe to your ServiceForge account.
Log into your Stripe account and go to Settings.
Select Payments, then Payment Methods.
Use the filter to view Buy Now, Pay Later options only.
Select the methods you want to offer and click Turn on.
Once enabled in Stripe, BNPL options appear automatically at checkout on your Booking Page.
Disable Buy Now, Pay Later
In Stripe, go to Settings > Payments > Payment Methods.
Select the BNPL methods you want to turn off and click Turn off.
Is Buy Now, Pay Later Right for Me?
BNPL works best for higher-cost jobs or emergency jobs where spreading payments makes it easier for a customer. A few things to consider before switching it on:
BNPL is only available for consumer customers like residential homeowners - it won't work if your clients are other businesses.
Stripe has its own eligibility requirements, so check their documentation before enabling.

FAQs
Do I still get paid upfront when a customer uses Buy Now, Pay Later? Yes. Stripe pays you the full amount when the job is booked. The customer repays the BNPL provider in instalments — that's between them and the lender.
Are there extra fees for BNPL? Yes. Stripe charges an additional fee on top of their standard rate for BNPL transactions. Check Stripe's pricing guide for current rates.
Which Buy Now, Pay Later options are available? Klarna, Affirm, ClearPay/Afterpay, and more via Stripe. Availability depends on your customer's country and eligibility.
Will all my customers see Buy Now, Pay Later at checkout? Only customers who are eligible based on their location, currency, and transaction amount, and only once you've enabled BNPL in your Stripe account.
What if a customer stops making their BNPL repayments? That's not your problem. Klarna, Afterpay, and Affirm take on the collection risk. You keep the full upfront payment from Stripe regardless.
Can Buy Now, Pay Later be used for in-person payments? Not at this stage. BNPL is only available through your online Booking Page.
How do refunds work with BNPL? The same as any other Stripe payment. Issue a refund through ServiceForge or Stripe and the BNPL provider automatically adjusts the customer's repayment schedule.
Are there minimum or maximum transaction amounts? Yes, check Stripe's documentation for the current limits.
Where do I manage which payment methods show on my Booking Page? In Stripe, go to Settings > Payments > Payment Methods. Everything toggled on there will appear at checkout on your ServiceForge Booking Page.
A customer can't see the BNPL option I enabled. Why? A few things could cause this — unsupported country, transaction amount outside the allowed range, or the option not being enabled under the correct Stripe Payment Configuration for ServiceForge. Double-check your Stripe settings and eligibility requirements.
